City of Melbourne Hires David Wilkison to Serve as New City Engineer, Will Start July 13

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Melbourne has hired David Wilkison, P.E., to serve as its new City Engineer. Wilkison has more than 37 years of civil engineering and management experience.
Prior to coming to the City of Melbourne, he was DRMP’s East Coast Engineering Manager.
Previously he served as Collier County’s Growth Management department head and has held management positions at several consulting firms around the state.
He has a strong background in civil engineering, capital improvement budgeting, and staff management. He holds a B.S. in environmental engineering from University of Florida and is a Florida Registered Professional Engineer.
As City Engineer he will oversee all aspects of the City of Melbourne’s Engineering Department, including construction plan review, stormwater utility billing, and projects, capital improvement projects, traffic engineering, abandon and vacate requests, addressing, right-of-way use permits and agreements, water authorization, impact fee calculations, and maintenance of traffic for special events.
The department is also responsible for the City’s transportation, intersection and signalization, stormwater utility, and sidewalks and bikeways programs.
Wilkison will begin his service to the City of Melbourne on July 13.
