64-year-old merritt island man killed Thursday morning

A Merritt Island man was killed Thursday morning after a vehicle pulled out in front of his motorcycle near Courtenay Pkwy. and Myrtice Ave.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA –  The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a Merritt Island man was killed Thursday morning after a vehicle pulled out in front of his motorcycle near Courtenay Parkway and Myrtice Avenue.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 64-year-old man was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to the investigation by Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a sedan vehicle was attempting to make a turn on Myrtice Avenue from Courtenay Parkway when she turned in front of the motorcyclist.

The driver of the sedan vehicle has been identified as a 78-year-old woman.

The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
