BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Florida Department of Health in Brevard County (DOH-Brevard) is accepting applications to fill positions that will be used to address the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those hired will work with health department personnel, many of whom have been temporarily reassigned from other public health roles in the department and are already engaged in contact tracing, viral testing, and other activities addressing COVID-19.
“We are excited to be able to hire additional personnel to assist in our COVID response,” said DOH-Brevard Administrator Maria Stahl.
“Our school health staff has done a tremendous job helping out over the summer and we appreciate all the extra work they’ve done. Now that they will be returning to the schools, we need to fill a variety of positions.”
The positions range from entry-level through mid-level positions. Qualifications are varied but include experience in a health-related field or work with communities on social service matters, social work or case management while others require little experience.
These short-term positions are funded through December 31, 2020.
Florida Department of Health in Brevard County is hiring experienced contact tracers ($21/hour), registered nurses ($25/hour), licensed practical nurses ($22/hour), and senior clerks ($15/hour). All positions are full-time, 40 hours a week positions.
