BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida State running back Jashaun Corbin was named Wednesday to the Doak Walker Award Watch List, given to the nation’s top running back.

Corbin enters his first year as a Seminole after transferring from Texas A&M and being granted a waiver for immediate eligibility in 2020.

Corbin, from Rockledge, Florida, will be a redshirt sophomore this season. He appeared in 14 games at Texas A&M, totaling 1,025 all-purpose yards, including 483 rushing yards, 441 kickoff return yards and 101 receiving yards.

He started the first two games for the Aggies in 2019 before a season-ending injury, rushing for a career-high 103 yards and a touchdown in the season opener while also catching a touchdown.

Corbin was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2018 after leading Texas A&M with 422 kickoff return yards. He added 346 rushing yards and 85 receiving yards as a freshman.

The Doak Walker Award is presented annually to the nation’s premier running back. It was created in 1989 and is the only major college football award that requires all candidates to be in good academic standing and on schedule to graduate.

The PwC SMU Athletic Forum will release its list of three finalists in November and the winner will be announced December 10 as part of the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
