HURRICANE WATCH: Space Coast Daily Weather Reporter Zach Clark reports that Tropical Storm Gonzalo has formed in the mid-Atlantic Ocean and set a record for the earliest-named seventh tropical storm of the Atlantic hurricane season in history. National Hurricane Center forecasters said Wednesday night that Gonzalo was about 1,000 miles east of the Southern Windward Islands, with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, moving west at 12 mph. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service in Melbourne forecast on Thursday calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny skies, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 101.

The forecast also calls for east southeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 30%.
