HURCON 3 indicates Hurricane Isaias has sustained surface winds in excess of 50 knots

BREVARD COUNTY • PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, FLORIDA – As of Saturday, August 1, the 45th Space Wing Commander, Brig. Gen. Schiess, has declared HURCON 3. 

HURCON 3 indicates Hurricane Isaias has sustained surface winds in excess of 50 knots and could arrive within 48 hours.

At this time, an evacuation has not been ordered and is not expected. However, now is the time to ensure you are prepared.

Hurricanes bring many hazards to coastlines and inland areas, including storm surges along the coast, inland flooding due to heavy rainfall, tornadoes, strong wind, rip currents and large waves. Determine your risk and prepare.
