BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On June 18, Brevard County Fire Rescue Station 82 responded to an 11-year-old boy that was seriously injured from a bicycle accident.

He was trauma alerted, however, the medical helicopters were not flying so BCFR crews transported him to the closest trauma center.

On the way to the hospital, the young man was worried about the status of his bicycle and what shape it was in.

Firefighter-Paramedic Hochstetler decided they were going to get him a new bike to ride when he was done with his recovery.

So, on July 30, the on duty and off duty crew from Station 82, along with BCSO and West Melbourne Police Department, delivered his new bike and did a few laps around the block with him.
