BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue crews, with an assist from the Titusville Fire Department, were on the scene of a structure fire in the 3400 block of Hammock Road in Mims on Tuesday.

Firefighters were first alerted by a phone call to the station reporting a column of smoke, which is not uncommon in rural areas where people burn piles on their property.

As crews were en route, the Brevard County Fire Rescue Communications Center upgraded the alarm due to more calls coming as a reported structure fire.

Firefighters overcame water supply issues as well as the high heat index while battling this large manufactured home.

“Unfortunately, the home is a total loss due to the fire’s head start and rapid progression,” said Brevard County Fire Rescue officials.

The occupants were not home and there were no injuries as a result of the blaze.

The cause is currently under investigation by the BCFR Fire Prevention Bureau.
