Brevard Sheriff’s Agents Apprehend Inmate Clarence Lakeman Jr. After Absconding From Work Release Program

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office GAME OVER (Gang And Major Epidemic Of Violence Enforcement Response) Task Force arrested 33-year old Clarence Lakeman Jr. of Melbourne after he recently absconded from the Cocoa Bridge Inmate Work Release Program.

On August 6, Lakeman ran way from the Cocoa Bridge Community Release Center after removing his ankle monitor and then traveled to the Melbourne area.

Later that day Brevard County Deputies and Melbourne Police surrounded an area in Melbourne where Lakeman was believed to be hiding, yet were unable to locate him.

During the early morning hours on Wednesday, the GAME OVER Task Force and Fugitive Agents determined that Lakeman was at a hotel in Palm Bay.

As agents closed in on Lakeman in the parking lot, he attempted to avoid capture by running from the property and into a nearby wooded area.

Agents from the Task Force and Fugitive Agents immediately surrounded Lakeman who was still resistant and was tased as he refused to surrender and follow the directions of the agents.

Lakeman, who was serving a two-years and eight-month long Department Of Corrections sentence out of Brevard County for charges of sale and delivery of cocaine, was booked into the Brevard County Jail for Escape and Resisting Arrest Without Violence on a “No Bond” status.
