BREVARD COUNTY • PORT ST. JOHN, FLORIDA – Last week one of our residents in Port Saint John contacted our agency to report the theft of her son’s three-wheeled bicycle.
Mom was truly distraught over the theft of the tricycle because it brings so much happiness to her son, while also helping him with his therapy as the tricycle is a great tool to help with his condition.
The victim also shared with our agency that she did not have the financial means to purchase him another tricycle so our team finding the bike was their only hope.
Deputy Jeff McClure was extremely offended that a perpetrator would do this so he and his fellow Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office North Precinct, searched diligently to locate the tricycle, which meant so much to this young man.
Within one day, after the theft was reported, Deputy McClure utilized his investigative skills to track down the tricycle and recover it for the family.
Deputy McClure immediately contacted mom to inform her that he found the tricycle and was on the way to return it to her son.
As you can imagine, mom was elated to hear the news as Deputies quickly returned the stolen property to Kyle, who was overcome with joy seeing his tricycle again.
And of course, while Deputy McClure and our team were doing their part to help Kyle, our community was doing exactly what they always do in times of need…coming together to help raise funds to buy Kyle a new bike so they could help a local citizen in need.
Every single day I am reminded about the amazing members of the Brevard County Sheriffs’ Office, and their commitment to serving each and every one of our citizens
Also every single day I am reminded about the kindness of our community as I always say, “it takes a community to protect a community,” and this case is yet another perfect example of just how true that statement is.
Please join me in thanking Deputy Jeff McClure and the members of our North Precinct team for their positive interaction with Kyle, demonstrating just how hard they truly work every day to protect everyone in our community.
Great Job Jeff!
