Cocoa Beach Police Alert Residents After Reports of Unlocked Vehicles Being Burglarized on Barrello Lane

The Cocoa Beach Police Department received reports of unlocked vehicles being burglarized on Barrello Lane on  Wednesday night and Thursday and are urging residents to be vigilant. According to Cocoa police officials, one unlocked vehicle was stolen using the key fob that was left inside. Another vehicle with its windows down was burglarized at the Cocoa Beach Pier.  An investigation into these incidents are ongoing. (CBPD image)

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach Police Department received reports of unlocked vehicles being burglarized on Barrello Lane on  Wednesday night and Thursday and are urging residents to be vigilant.

According to Cocoa police officials, one unlocked vehicle was stolen using the key fob that was left inside. Another vehicle with its windows down was burglarized at the Cocoa Beach Pier.  An investigation into these incidents are ongoing.

Cocoa Beach officials request residents to remember to always lock vehicle doors, close windows, remove valuables/key fobs, and hide items from plain view. Do not create crimes of opportunity.
