How to Spend as Little Time at the Airport as Possible
By Space Coast Daily // August 21, 2020

If you have been planning a trip, for either business or pleasure, you are very likely not looking forward to the time that you will have to spend at the airport.
The long lines, overpriced food, and confinement to one place for potentially hours on end is enough to make anyone dread being there.
The key to starting your trip off on the right foot might just be to reduce the time that you have to spend at the airport altogether.
While there are certainly some elements of being at the airport that can’t be avoided, such as security checks or weather delays, your time there doesn’t have to be completely inefficient. In fact, with a little advanced planning you can find yourself spending as little time as possible at the airport.
Book a Parking Space in Advance
Your bags are packed, and you are ready to set off on your trip. You have made sure you have given yourself plenty of time to load up the car and drive to the airport.
Then, upon arriving at the parking lot you find that there are no free spaces to be seen. You must then spend additional time driving around searching for a spot, only to then find yourself rushing to check in and get to your gate before your flight takes off.
In such a scenario, you might very well be spending as little time as possible inside the airport, but not in the way you had hoped.
Moreover, missing your flight means sitting around for much longer waiting for the next one. Do yourself a favor and book short-term parking Atlanta Airport online in advance, so that you can simply drive up, park, and enter the airport without wasting any time.
Check-In Online
Upon entering the airport, the first long line to greet you is the one at the check-in counter. However, did you know that most major airlines will now let you check in up to 24 hours before your scheduled departure time?
You can check in via your airline’s mobile app and thus avoid wasting time standing in line.
You can go a step further by only bringing a carry-on bag. By skipping the check-in counter altogether, you can head straight to your TSA security checkpoint and save yourself a significant amount of time.
Bring Sustenance
There are few elements of being at the airport that are more frustrating than having to wait in ridiculously long lines for food or drinks, only to arrive at the counter to pay an extortionate markup on the food that you order.
Not only does this waste your valuable time, but it also wastes money. Do yourself a favor and pack a variety of airport-friendly snacks to get your through to your flight.
You can also bring an empty water bottle along through security that can be filled once you enter the terminal. Most airports these days have bottle-filling stations designed for these purposes so that you can enjoy free filtered water instead of paying an insane amount for a bottle.
