National Weather Service in Melbourne Issues Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Central Brevard

severe thunderstorm located near Viera–Rockledge, moving northeast at 15 mph

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Central Brevard County in east-central Florida until 7 p.m. At 6:09 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near Viera, or near Rockledge, moving northeast at 15 mph. 

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA –  The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Central Brevard County in east-central Florida until 7 p.m.

At 6:09 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near Viera, or near Rockledge, moving northeast at 15 mph.

■ HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.
■ SOURCE…Radar indicated.
■ IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include Rockledge, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral and Merritt Island.
