Tropical Wave in Atlantic Could Become Tropical Depression in Next Two Days

60% favorable to form into a tropical depression over the next two days

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – National Hurricane Center is beginning to monitor a tropical disturbance in the Atlantic located about 600 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

Experts at the National Hurricane Center say conditions are 60-percent favorable for the tropical wave to form into a tropical depression over the next two days.

The system of showers and thunderstorms are moving to the west-northwest at 10-15 mph.

Conditions for further development by the end of the week are not conducive as the system will approach high wind shear areas.
