BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police Department traffic enforcement officers recently partnered with several other agencies to provide safer roads for citizens.
Partners included the Cocoa Police Delta Squad officers, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Motor Units and the Florida Highway Patrol to conduct special enforcement in the construction zone on State Road 528 between Interstate 95 and U.S. Hwy. 1 in the area Virgin Trains is building its high-speed rail track.
Cocoa police traffic enforcement officers are also in an area in which CPD has worked multiple traffic fatalities in the last several years due to high speed, reckless and aggressive driving.

The purpose of this special enforcement is to remind motorists to slow down, especially in the construction zone where workers are present.
“We understand there are many areas that need attention,” said CPD officials.
“We will be conducting random operations throughout the city to address your traffic concerns and hope to highlight them as well in the near future. Our goal is to improve driver behavior. Let’s all do our part to keep our roadways safe by driving in a safe and responsible manner.”
