Melbourne Police Seek Burgundy Minivan Involved in Hit-and-Run That Leaves Pedestrian Seriously Injured

Female pedestrian suffered significant injuries and the minivan fled the scene westbound on Paradise Boulevard

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police are seeking a maroon or burgundy-colored minivan that was involved in a hit-and-run incident on Saturday at approximately 5:08 p.m. that left a female pedestrian in serious injuries.

“We responded to a reported vehicle vs. pedestrian crash just north of the intersection of North Highway A1A and Paradise Boulevard,” said Melbourne Police Sgt.Daniel Desormier.

“The initial investigation revealed a maroon or burgundy minivan traveling southbound on North Highway A1A left the roadway and struck a female pedestrian walking on the sidewalk.”

According to Sgt. Desormier, the female pedestrian suffered significant injuries and the minivan fled the scene westbound on Paradise Boulevard prior to law enforcement arrival.

The minivan was last seen driving behind Monkey Bar and surveillance video footage was located of the van, which is maroon/burgundy in color and has black rims.

There appears to be significant damage to the front passenger side bumper and fender.

“The vehicle and driver have not been located and we are requesting assistance in identifying the vehicle owner and/or driver,” said Sgt. Desormier.
