MPD: Drugs were being sold at the residence when children were present, as well as the drugs being found in an area openly accessible to the children
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – After an ongoing investigation involving the sale of illegal drugs, the Melbourne Police Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant Sept. 17 at 2604 Lipscomb Street, with the assistance of the MPD Community Response Team.
According to Melbourne Police Lt. Scott Moster, detectives seized 2.8 grams of fentanyl which was located in an Enfamil formula container sitting on the floor in the family room.
Due to the drugs being sold at the residence when children were present, as well as the drugs being found in an area openly accessible to the children, the Florida Department of Children and Families was contacted and a case was initiated.
“In the past 30 days, we have responded to this address in excess of nine times,” said Lt. Moster.
“Those responses were the result of community members calling in about drug sales, suspicious vehicles/persons/activity. Neighborhood Watch really does work. When the local community recognizes something is off, out of place, or wrong – they should report it.”
