BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – As hurricane season reaches peak, National Hurricane Center is monitoring multiple disturbances in the Atlantic on Wednesday.
One disturbance (orange) located near the coast of Africa near Cabo Verde Islands has a 60-percent chance of formation in five-days, according to NHC experts.
Current data shows the tropical wave emerged in the last 24 hours and is expected to merge with a disturbance centered a couple of hundred miles southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands in the next day or so.
A tropical depression could form by this weekend while it moves west over the Atlantic Ocean.
