BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Recently, I was tagged in a Facebook post along with a number of other Brevard County elected officials by a Brevard County mom who wanted us to help bring awareness to “Childhood Cancer”.

Wanting to learn more, I asked his mom to give me a call and discovered that her son Isaiah, who is 21-years-old had been diagnosed with a form of brain cancer that required doctors to perform 33 separate surgeries in order to save his life.

I also learned that through perseverance and a “never give up” attitude, Isaiah had recently graduated from Palm Bay High School and that he has a dream of one day becoming a Sportscaster as he loves all sports, especially basketball.

Being Sheriff and having a few connections, Isaiah’s mom and I decided to try and make his dream of being a Sportscaster come true, so I contacted my friends at Space Coast Daily and asked if they would be willing to bring Isaiah on as a new member of their “Friday Night Locker Room” Team!!

Isaiah came to my office in Titusville a few days later with his parents under the pretense that he was coming to share his story with me about childhood cancer.

While the video in this post tells the rest of this awesome story, I am truly excited for Isaiah as he is a great young man who deserves to see ALL of his dreams come true!!

A huge “Thank You” to Space Coast Daily and Orville and Steve from “Friday Night Locker Room” and of course a very special “Thank You” to Isaiah’s Mom for being his “Superhero!!”
