OBITUARY: Becky Dickson Ripley, 69, Passed Away Aug. 25 in Rockledge After Extended Illness

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Becky Dickson Ripley, age 69, passed away on August 25 at VITAS Inpatient Hospice Center in Rockledge after an extended illness.
She was born August 20, 1951, in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Thomas K Dickson and Marjorie E Johnson. The family moved to Eau Gallie, Florida in February 1965. She graduated from Eau Gallie High School in 1969.
After high school she moved to Orlando, Florida where she worked for the Florida Institute of Technology, Professional Development Programs, Orlando Center as an administrative assistant for 17 years.
She took a medical disability retirement in 2015 and moved back to Melbourne, Florida to be near family.
She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew (Johnny Mott). She is survived by her mother, Marjorie Kimbro of Melbourne, Florida, her son Zachary Douglas Ripley of Oviedo, Florida, two sisters Mary Eloise Lape of Fallbrook, California, Kris Mott (John) of Melbourne Beach, Florida, a brother David Dickson (Cathy) of Gainesville, Florida, two nephews, a niece, three grandnephews and two grand nieces.
She enjoyed playing the nickel slot machines among the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, staying in touch with friends and family on Facebook, and learning the history of Brevard County.
Arrangements are in the care of Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home. She will be interred at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Florida.
There will be a graveside memorial service on Wednesday, September 16, at 2 pm at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Florida.
