BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA –Representative Randy Fine (R-Palm Bay) announced an additional four free weekly food distributions in September and October in partnership with Farm Share.

“As my family recovers from COVID, we recognize there are still many struggling financially because of its economic effects,” said Fine.

“As a result, I am so excited that I will again help provide food to thousands of Brevard families. These four events will build on the six we did at the height of the shutdown in May and June. They had a huge impact on the 3,000 families we served and I know these will as well. I am so grateful to Farm Share for coming back to Brevard for this lifesaving initiative.”

The free food distributions will begin at 9 a.m. at Representative Fine’s office at 2539 Palm Bay Road, NE in Palm Bay.

They will occur on four consecutive Fridays:

– September 18, 25

– October 2, 9

First-come, first-served; drive-through only. One set of food per vehicle while supplies last.

This event will be cosponsored by several elected officials from Brevard who will be personally assisting in the preparation and distribution of the food: Brevard County Commissioners John Tobia and Kristine Isnardi, Melbourne Vice Mayor Paul Alfrey, and Satellite Beach Councilwoman Mindy Gibson.

“I am so excited that a number of my colleagues in local government are co-sponsoring the event, to not only help us get the word out to those in need, but more importantly do the literal heavy lifting of repackaging and loading the food into cars. It is physically demanding but spiritually rewarding.

“I also want to thank my other partners in this enterprise – the neighbor businesses in my office plaza who accept the inconvenience of their parking lot being monopolized for several hours in order to give back to their neighbors. They are great members of our community that I hope Brevardians will remember: Gentlemen’s Barber Shop, Happy Paws Pet Grooming, Fireplace & BBQ Emporium, Fairythimbles, and Chapter 29 Church.”
