BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I was honored and humbled to be presented with a beautiful “Thin Blue Line” American Flag woodwork by one of our local veterans, Jerome DeFrank.
Jerome is a 38-year-old Combat Wounded Veteran who after years of battling post-traumatic stress disorder “PTSD” and depression, found woodworking and the great outdoors to be the therapy he needed to help manage his depression and PTSD.
Jerome started designing custom American Flags and signs as a hobby and made a special flag for me to display as Sheriff of Brevard County.
In addition to being presented with the “Thin Blue Line” flag, I also had the chance to sit and talk with Jerome about his incredible service to our country, his injuries that were sustained in combat, and his road to recovery.
He is a true hero to our nation and I am honored that he thought to design this beautiful flag for me.
If you would like to see more of Jerome’s work and dedication to our American Flag, Armed Forces, and Law Enforcement be sure to visit his Facebook Page “JD Creations” as he is a very talented young man who loves his country and community.
