Titusville Man Arrested For Vehicular Homicide After Deadly Hit-and-Run

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A Titusville man has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run on September 22.

The suspect arrested has been identified as 25-year-old Galvin Lemazia Ware.

Police say when they arrived on scene they discovered a victim lying in the road with life-threatening injuries, who later died as a result of those injuries.

Ware has been charged with the following:

– Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon
– Leaving the Scene of a Crash without Rendering Aid Involving Serious Bodily Harm
– Robbery with Force
– Driving with a Suspend/Revoked/Cancelled License Causing Serious Bodily Harm–
– Vehicular Homicide
– Leaving the Scene of a Crash With a Death

Police say the preliminary investigation has revealed the Ware drove over 41-year-old Robert Boyd Johnston of Titusville, in an unidentified white 4 door sedan. After the incident, Ware fled the scene in the area of Wager Avenue and Union Street.

Investigators utilized evidence from a surveillance camera to capture a photo of the vehicle Ware was driving. Police later identified the suspect’s vehicle as a 2002 white Hyundai Sonata, which ultimately led to the identity and subsequent arrest warrant issued for the suspect.

Titusville Police SWAT team entered a residence on Warren Court around 9:15 p.m. on Friday.

Only after several hours of standoff with police, in which the suspect refused to exit the residence.

Johnston succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Ware is being held at the Brevard County Jail without bond.
