Titusville Man Charged With Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon After Hitting Bicyclist with Vehicle

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police officers arrested 55-year-old Kevin Rex Ross who police say deliberately struck an adult male bicyclist with his vehicle at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Titusville Police Public Information Officer Amy Matthews, Ross, of Titusville, was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect purposely accelerated his 2018 silver Chevy Cruze in the parking area of 4835 Helen Houser Boulevard, struck the victim on his bicycle, and continued driving as the victim tumbled from the front to the end of the vehicle.”

Matthews said the victim and suspect were known to each other and had a verbal altercation just prior to the incident. Ross was arrested at the crime scene.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Ross is being held at the Brevard County Jail with a $15,000 bond.
