BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey picked up an endorsement from Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood on Thursday.
“I have known Sheriff Ivey since his days as a Resident Agent in Charge at FDLE. He was a critical partner in our fight against violence and drugs in Daytona Beach. His passion and commitment to the safety of our community was clear to me then, and it’s clear to me now that he brought the same dedication to Brevard County when he became sheriff,” said Sheriff Chitwood.
“With Sheriff Ivey at the helm, and his deputies and staff working every day to carry out his vision, I know the safety of every person in Brevard County is in good hands. I hope the voters of Brevard see what I see, and re-elect Sheriff Ivey for another 4 years of effective law enforcement leadership.”

Sheriff Wayne Ivey expressed his appreciation and partnership over the years as neighboring counties.
”I am truly honored to have the endorsement of fellow Sheriff Mike Chitwood, of neighboring Volusia County,” said Sheriff Ivey.
“Mike is an experienced Law Enforcement Officer with decades of service devoted to protecting citizens. Sheriff Chitwood is a strong Sheriff and leader who understands exactly what it takes to run a major agency in today’s challenging times. I am humbled to have his support and to work alongside him as we partner together to keep our communities safe!”
