SIT DOWN WITH STEVE: Rockledge resident and best-selling author Leigh Duncan knew at an early age that she wanted to be a writer, In fact, she wrote her first story in the second grade. Her next book, A Waterfront Wedding, will be published by Hallmark and is due out in the spring of 2021.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Rockledge resident and best-selling author Leigh Duncan knew at an early age that she wanted to be a writer, In fact, she wrote her first story in the second grade.
Duncan, who recently sat down with the Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson, was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and made her way to Brevard County when her dad took a job at Patrick Air Force Base.
She is a graduate of Cocoa High School and the University of Florida. While in Gainesville, she met her future husband, who after graduation, joined the U.S. Navy. After moving around for the better part of 20 years, they decided to come back home to Brevard County.
Duncan has been a successful writer for a number of years, having published her first full-length book in 2010.
However, she has taken it to another level with her partnership with Hallmark Publishing. As part of her deal with Hallmark, she wrote a book in 2017 based on the Hallmark Channel Original Movie, Journey Back to Christmas.
Her next book, A Waterfront Wedding, will be published by Hallmark and is due out in the spring of 2021. A Waterfront Wedding is the third in a series of books Duncan has written as part of the Heart’s Landing series.
