Fatal Stabbing Victim Identified as Titusville Woman, Suspect Charged with Second-Degree Murder

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police have arrested a 56-year-old man for the stabbing death of a local woman.

The preliminary investigation has revealed the victim, Beverly Denise Fayson, 69, of Titusville, who was in a domestic relationship with the suspect, was killed inside the residence by the suspect.

According to Titusville police spokesperson Amy Matthews, Steven O’Neil Smith of Titusville was charged with Second Degree Murder.

“Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect, who was covered in what appeared to be blood, sitting on the front porch of the residence,” said Matthews.

“The preliminary investigation has revealed the victim, who was in a domestic relationship with the suspect, was killed inside the residence by the suspect.”

Fayson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Matthews said that Smith was taken into custody without incident, transported to a local hospital for treatment of an injury, which occurred before officers arrived, then booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond.
