SEC league officials announced on Wednesday the Florida Gators vs LSU Tigers game scheduled for Saturday has been postponed to Dec. 12 after a recent outbreak of COVID-19 among Florida Gators football players.

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA – SEC league officials announced on Wednesday the Florida Gators vs LSU Tigers game scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed to Dec. 12 after a recent outbreak of COVID-19 among Florida Gators football players.

The new rescheduled for date on Dec. 12 was originally scheduled as a fixed in bye week before the SEC championship game, in case of scenario such as this one.

The Gators announced that athletic director Scott Stricklin also addressed the media on Wednesday where he discussed the program’s outbreak that included five positive COVID-19 tests inside the program in the past week.

As a result, all football activities were shut down temporarily.
