TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Seminoles shocked the college football world Saturday night after they defeated the No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels 31-28 at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Despite stadium capacity limits due to COVID-19, the atmosphere at Doak Campbell was electric with only about 20,000 fans in attendance.
The win gives first-year head coach Mike Norvell his first signature win as the Seminoles head coach.
Florida State will travel to Louisville next week who just came off a nail biting 12-7 loss to No. 4 Notre Dame.
The Seminoles led at halftime 31-7 and had to hold off the Tar Heels in the closing seconds to clinch the victory.
Florida State utilized a stellar rushing attack that featured running backs La’Damian Webb and Jordan Travis each rushing for over 100 yards.
