BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – LEFTA Systems, the industry leader for law enforcement internal documentation processes and applications, today announced that the Melbourne Police Department has purchased its SHIELD Suite Platform, a comprehensive software solution that documents high liability areas and events within an agency.

Through an early warning system and statistical reporting, the SHIELD Suite Platform includes applications that enable Melbourne PD to better monitor field training, document use-of-force incidents, conduct internal investigations, and more.

It also encourages community transparency by allowing citizens to file online reports regarding perceived employee conduct.

By implementing these applications into its internal processes, Melbourne PD complies with the recent use-of-force data collection recommendations made by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

“By utilizing the entire LEFTA Systems SHIELD Suite, the Melbourne Police Department is adopting a concise and complete documentation platform that outlines their agency’s proactive approach to internal controls,” said Bryan Selzer, CEO and founder, LEFTA Systems.

“This methodical approach creates viable data points to improve across-the-board accountability through documentation and analysis.”

The Melbourne Police Department is the latest law enforcement agency to implement the SHIELD Suite Platform with LEFTA Systems, which now sees its applications being used by more than 400 agencies across the U.S.
