UPDATE: Police Officials Identify Motorcyclist Killed Friday Night in Titusville

A yet-to-be-identified man was killed Friday evening in a motorcycle crash on South Hopkins Avenue in Titusville.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA –Authorities have identified the man that was killed Friday evening in a motorcycle crash on South Hopkins Avenue in Titusville as 63-year-old Michael Ray Moon from Titusville.

According to Titusville Police Public Information Officer Amy Matthews, at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries involving a motorcycle near the intersection of Sycamore Street and South Hopkins Avenue.

Police say Moon was driving a black 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on South Hopkins Avenue, lost control, and crashed into a ditch on the west side of the same street.

“The preliminary investigation revealed an adult male was driving a black 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on South Hopkins Avenue, lost control, and crashed into a ditch on the west side of the same street,” said Matthews.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 7:30 p.m.”

There were no other injuries reported.

This incident remains under investigation by the Titusville police.
