Three people were hospitalized early Thursday morning after a shooting on the 1300 block of E. University Blvd.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Three people were hospitalized early Thursday morning after a shooting on the 1300 block of E. University Blvd.

One of the shooting victims has since died at the hospital, according to police.

The victim who died has been identified as a 34-year-old woman, Jamie Francis Wright from Palm Bay.

The other two shooting victims hospitalized are identified as Theron Ishmael Wright, 38, and Latavious Shant Johnson, 40, both of whom are Palm Bay residents.

Melbourne Police say they responded to a call of shots fired in the area of the 1300 block on E. University Blvd. on Thursday around 12:30 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found three people had been shot who were immediately taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center.

Witnesses describe the suspects as two men who were wearing masks and were last seen leaving in a dark-colored SUV.
