Kickoff set for 7 p.m. on Space Coast Daily TV

The Holy Trinity Tigers are gearing up to host the Merritt Island Mustangs tonight in a key Division 2 matchup.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Holy Trinity Tigers are gearing up to host the Merritt Island Mustangs tonight in a key Division 2 matchup featured on Space Coast Daily TV.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Merritt Island (1-0) is coming off a dominating 44-6 win in week 1 versus the Titusville Terriers.

Last week, Holy Trinity (1-0) defeated their longtime rival MCC 21-13 in a game that had the closest score across all Brevard county games in week 1.

Both teams are vying for the No. 1 spot in Division 2, a new division format for 2020 due to COVID-19.

The Tigers are led by their highly touted wide receiver James Blackstrain, a Georgia Tech commit for the 2021 class, Blackstrain is currently a 4-star recruit by the major recruiting outlets including 247sports, and Rivals.

ABOVE VIDEO: Holy Trinity football star James Blackstrain visited the Mike Erdman Cadillac Studios in Merritt Island this May to talk about his recruitment and his upcoming senior season with Tigers.

Blackstrain has over 40 scholarship offers and listed on ESPN’s top 300 players in the nation.

Despite missing his 2019 junior season due to injury, the senior wide receiver received offers from major programs including  LSU, Georgia, Florida, and many more.

As a freshman, he raked in over 500 yards and seven touchdowns as a receiver.

James Blackstrain has also helped Holy Trinity win their first playoff victory in program history with a game-winning catch as time expired.
