BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – As we head into the holiday season after a long and tough 2020, organizers of the Space Coast Daily Balloon Glow Hot Air Balloon Festival have added two more holiday-inspired special shape balloons as they look to lift spirits this Christmas.

This exciting event is being hosted at Space Coast Daily Park December 11 through 13 with activities set for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day, including a spectacle called the “balloon glow” where every hot air balloon lights up like a lantern as the sun goes down.

The event will also feature four special shape balloons owned by local hot air balloon pilot John Cavin.

A reindeer inspired balloon will travel from Canada to join the festivities, while the Frosty the Snowman balloon has not been seen in public for a number of years.

These balloons have been secured through a partnership with Indialantic-based Cartoon Balloons, who are also bringing four special shapes based on Tom & Jerry and Tweety & Sylvester.

Easy Events Group Inc. President and CEO Richard Garvie said he wanted to make the Viera event a little bit extra special given the limited capacity and COVID-19 protocols.

The event will also feature four special shape balloons owned by local hot air balloon pilot John Cavin.

The Space Coast Daily Balloon Glow is operated by Delaware-based company Easy Events Group, which is the largest operator of hot air balloon events in the country.

“It has been a tough year for everyone, and when we planned this event, we wanted to do something that would give the community a little shot in the arm,” said Garvie.

“I was on Facebook and saw a picture of that balloon so thought I would give John Cavin a call to see if he could get it for us and he was able to get that and the snowman.

“Fewer people will be able to attend the event this year than what we would normally expect due to COVID-19, so the plan is to get a bunch of pictures and videos for those people who aren’t able to join us and hopefully they can join us next year once we get passed the current national health challenges,” said Garvie.

The event runs from Friday, December 11, through Sunday, December 13 and tickets for Saturday, Dec. 12 are almost sold out.

The event will feature live music and there will also be socially distanced cash bars on site. The event will also feature some of Florida’s best food trucks and retail vendors.

Live musical entertainment includes the Daniel Jude Band on Friday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m
