BREVARD COUNTY • SUNTREE, FLORIDA – Suntree Country Club hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday to commemorate the start of a $7.5 million facility project to include a brand-new clubhouse projected to be completed in a year’s time.
The project will also include a new cart barn, putting green, landscaping, and relocation and upgrade to the current 9th as it’s transformed into the 18th hole on the Classic course, complete with a stunning Florida capstone wall.
Among the notable attendees was Congressman Bill Posey, State Representative Thad Altman, Country Commissioner John Tobia, Brevard Country Economic Development Commission CEO Lynda Weatherman and past Senate President Mike Haridopolos.
The new clubhouse will be approximately 14,000 square feet and will include two banquet rooms, a private dining, an indoor/outdoor bar, men and women’s locker rooms and pro shop.
The existing clubhouse will be kept and repurposed once the new clubhouse is complete.
“As we know, this year has been full of challenges, so myself and the membership are excited to have something to look forward to as we wrap up 2020,” said Suntree Country Club General Manager Steve Lamontagne.
Established in 1975, Suntree Country Club is a private, member-owned country club exclusively for the enjoyment, pleasure and fellowship of its members, their families and guests.
The beautifully landscaped campus offers 36 holes of championship golf, a state-of-the-art short game practice facility, eight lighted tennis courts and a large multi-purpose sports court for a variety of recreational activities.
The dining venues and active social calendar feature activities and special member events for the entire family.
Previous enhancements to the club in the past year include updates to the tennis facility that now feature six hydro-courts along with upgraded fencing, LED lights and light poles, as well as landscaping around all the tennis courts.
Projects also completed include phase 1 of the Challenge course irrigation, Challenge practice putting green and the expansion of their pool bar.
The Suntree Country Club has recently hit a cap for their Equity Golf Membership and are operating off of a waitlist. Currently, there is no waitlist for social and tennis memberships.
“This new clubhouse will be a great addition to the Suntree community, as well as give our Suntree Country Club members a new and improved club experience,” said Lamontagne.
