BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – This morning approximately 70 members of our agency, their families and friends, volunteered at the “Christmas Present Wrapping Event” for “Kids Without Christmas (KWC)” that each year provides gifts to hundreds of kids and their families who struggle during the Christmas Season.

While KWC is an amazing organization that works annually to make sure that every kid in Brevard County has a great Christmas, this year’s effort continued with a recently developed tradition that is the result of our agency’s incredible partnership with Mike Kelly and the KWC Team.

With help from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Unit, KWC provided Christmas presents for the second year in a row to over 100 kids who are the children of female inmates in our jail.

Our belief is that every kid deserves a great Christmas morning and by partnering with KWC we made sure that these kids will be no different even though they can’t spend Christmas with their mom.

The program was an amazing success because of the team at “Kids Without Christmas” and our “Special Program’s Team” at the Brevard County Jail as over 100 kids will have something to bring them a smile on Christmas morning.

KWC has been in operation for over 22 years and has brought Christmas Joy to thousands and thousands of children right here in our own community.

They are able to accomplish their amazing efforts through very generous community donors and volunteers as they annually provide over 7,000 gifts for families that otherwise might not have had presents to open on Christmas Day.

I would like to personally thank Brevard County Parks and Recreation for partnering with us on the initiative and of course Mike Kelly and the entire KWC Volunteer Team for all they have done through the years to make Christmas special for thousands of kids.

I also want to thank our Brevard County Corrections Team for all they did to help support our agency’s initiative for the second year in a row.

And of course a huge thank you to everyone from our agency and community who took part in this year’s wrapping event to once again demonstrate just how great it is to live in Brevard County.
