Stone Middle School Placed Into Brief Lockdown on Thursday, Lockdown Has Since Been Lifted

Brevard Public Schools officials announced on Thursday that Stone Middle School was placed into a brief ‘Shelter-in-Place’ this afternoon due to police activity in the area.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools officials announced on Thursday that Stone Middle School was placed into a brief ‘Shelter-in-Place’ this afternoon at 1101 E University Blvd. in Melbourne due to police activity in the area.

The lockdown was lifted around 2:15 p.m.

Reports suggests it was due to an incident in the nearby area.

Officials say all students and staff are safe.
