BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – I am very proud to share with our citizens the recent Florida Sheriff’s Association “Lifetime Achievment Award” that was recently presented to Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Commander James “JD” Donn.

This very prestigious award by the Florida Sheriff’s Association recognizes Commander Donn for his dedicated service to the citizens of Brevard County for over 46 years as a member of our agency and early on in his career, the Titusville Police Department.

Commander Donn started his career on May 14, 1973 when he was hired by T.P.D. and remained until accepting a position with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in 1981.

As a member of our agency, Jimmy Donn worked his way through the ranks from Patrol Deputy to Commander supervising at some point almost every aspect of our agency.

During his tenure with the Sheriff’s Office “JD”served under Sheriff Jake Miller, Sheriff Phil Williams, Sheriff Jack Parker, and is currently a member of our Command Team leading our Staff Services Unit with direct involvement in most legal matters that impact the agency and Office of the Sheriff.

Commander Donn is an incredible asset to our agency and to this day, 46 years later is one of the first at the office, the last to leave the building and can still be found at almost every community event the agency is involved in.

Please join me in congratulating Commander Donn for this outstanding recognition and in thanking him for his 46 years of service (so far) to our community, citizens, and agency!

– Sheriff Wayne Ivey
