Health First Receives Nearly 2,000 COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccines and will Begin Vaccinating Community Friday

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Thanks to the help of Governor Ron DeSantis, Representative Randy Fine and the Florida Division of Emergency Management, Health First is pleased to announce that Brevard’s community healthcare system will begin administering COVID-19 vaccinations to people ages 65 and older, as well as healthcare workers who provide direct patient care.
“Health First is honored to be able to continue to protect our community from COVID-19,” said Health First Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Jeffrey Stalnaker.
“We are incredibly grateful for the leadership of Representative Randy Fine, the Florida Division of Emergency Management and its Director Jared Moskowitz, and Governor Ron DeSantis for securing this critical supply of vaccines. Health First associates will work diligently to administer this additional supply of vaccines as quickly as possible.”

Here’s what you need to know:
■ Vaccines will be provided (by appointment only) Friday, January 8, through Sunday, January 10, in the Health First Physical Therapy building (located across the street from Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center at 611 E. Sheridan Road in Melbourne on the second floor).
■ During the registration process, community members should choose “other” for insurance information, as this vaccine is being offered at no cost. They should also include COVID-19 vaccine as the reason for their visit and fill in all of the required fields.
■ No walk-ins will be allowed.
■ Healthcare workers who sign up to receive a vaccine must bring a photo ID or healthcare badge for proof of identity.
■ Members of our community who are 65 and older should bring proof of identity as well.
■ After being vaccinated, all recipients will be required to remain on site for 15 minutes to be monitored for adverse reactions. They will also sign up for their second immunization to follow 21 days later.
■ Please know we do expect people to register to receive this vaccine very quickly and only have a limited supply. We apologize in advance if you are unable to receive one at this time, but do expect additional vaccine shipments in the future.
