Lake Sumter State College Edges Eastern Florida State 8-7 in Extra Innings

Rog and Moore each had three hits

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost 8-7 to Lake Sumter State College in 11 innings on the road Friday afternoon.

Down 5-1 in the top of the ninth inning, the Titans got things started when both RJ Diaz and Kaeber Rog earned walks with the bases loaded.

Still down 5-3, Chet Moore ripped a double down the left-field line to tie the game 5-5.

Then Connor Leary stepped to the plate and gave the Titans the lead with a two-run single.

But the Lakehawks would score twice to tie the game 7-7 in the bottom of the ninth inning to force extra innings.

The Titans had a chance to take the lead in the top of the 11th but could not drive the run home and in the bottom of the 11th inning, the Lakehawks scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk.

Rog and Moore each had three hits in their first game with the Titans.
