OBITUARY: Indian Harbour Beach Contractor David M. Woodford Passes Away January 2 at Age 59

David M. Woodford, age 59, died on January 2nd. He was a loving husband, father of three children, and grandfather of one.
He was born March 16, 1961, in Winston-Salem, NC to Phyllis and Melvin Woodford. He moved to Florida with his family in 1964 and attended the University of Florida where he graduated with a degree in building construction in 1985.
After he graduated, he went to work for BCA (which eventually became OHL) in 1991, where he worked until the present day. David was proud to work as the VP of pre-construction for the fourth largest commercial contractor in the state of Florida, and he was the only LEED-certified contractor in Indian Harbour Beach.
On April 1st, 1989 he married Freddi Woodford. David always had a passion for the water. It didn’t matter if he was fishing, skiing, swimming, snorkeling, diving, or just sitting on his boat at the marina, he was happy.
He was an active member at the Satellite Beach Church of Christ for many years before moving to Plantation, FL, where he attended Greenhouse Church South Florida.
He was loved by all who knew him for his hard-working and helpful nature, his laugh, and his quick wit. He is predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Phyllis Woodford, as well as his older brother, Steven J. Woodford. He is survived by his loving wife, Freddi Woodford, his loving sister Kathy (Brad) Tompkins, his children David B. (Susannah) Woodford, Rachel (Tim) Jozen, and Samuel (Skylar) Woodford, and his grandson Phoenix Jozen.
Service will be held at River Run Christian Church on Croton Road at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 16. Masks are required at service and will be provided if you do not have one. Toothpicks will be provided as well.
