Pedestrian Dies After Two Vehicles Hit Him Walking Across State Road 520 in Cocoa

Identities of individuals involved in the crash will not be released by FHP

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and two vehicles late Tuesday night that claimed the life of 29-year-old Cocoa man on State Road 520 near Lime St. in Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and two vehicles late Tuesday night that claimed the life of 29-year-old Cocoa man on State Road 520 near Lime St. in Cocoa.

FHP says a Toyota Camry, driven by a 17-year-old male from Merritt Island, was traveling eastbound on SR-520 in the left lane around 11:10 p.m., along with a Kia Sorrento driven by a 24-year-old man from Cocoa, who was traveling in the right lane.

State troopers say the pedestrian was walking across the eastbound lanes of SR-520 when the front end of the Toyota Camry struck the pedestrian in the left lane causing him to be knocked into the right lane, where he was struck again by the Kia Sorrento.

The pedestrian died at the scene, according to Cpl. Wenzel of the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP is still investigating the crash.
