BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) released the following statement in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
“The U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights guarantees every American equality under the law,” said Rep. Posey.
“The civil rights movement reaffirmed that central principle and led to safeguards against biases and added protections for which we all benefit. Many Americans had made great sacrifices to raise before our nation important issues dealing with the respect for individual liberty and the just treatment of others. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day it is appropriate for us to reflect on the cost of freedom and the ongoing struggle for fairness and transparency.”
