‘Sit Down With Steve’ Features Astronaut High School Student-Athlete Kaylynn Gil

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools are consistently ranked as one of the top school systems in the state of Florida, and it’s students like Astronaut High School’s Kaylynn Gil that provide this high ranking.
Gil, a senior at Astronaut, recently received her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license, which will allow her to move right into her career of choice, working in the medical field.
Gil, who currently carries a 3.82 unweighted, and 4.3 weighted GPA is dual enrolled at Eastern Florida State College.
After graduating from Astronaut, she will only be approximately 10 credit hours away from receiving her AA.
Gil is involved in numerous clubs and organizations, among them are the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Barrell Horse Association.
She is also a four-year varsity basketball player for the War Eagles.
In October 2020, Gil was selected as the Brevard Public Schools representative for the U.S. CTE Presidential Scholar Award, which recognizes and honors superior high school students.
Kaylynn Gil is the definition of a student-athlete, with an emphasis on “student.”
