BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Supply Zone for Teachers, a program of the Brevard Schools Foundation, conducted “Celebrate Literacy Week” as dedicated volunteers, including Brevard School Board District 3 member Jennifer Jenkins and District 5 member Katye Campbell, participated in distributing the items.

The volunteers loaded their vehicles with boxes of hand sanitizer, face masks and books and drove them throughout the county to deliver to our schools of highest need.

This was made possible through a strong partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation who helps facilitate countless donations for the Supply Zone.

Brevard Public Schools said the donations included 16,000 reusable face masks and 2,000 gallons of hand sanitizer that was also given out along with the books.

“We also want to send out a huge ‘Thank You’ to the Brevard County Florida Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club who has written a special grant for brand new books for our schools for several years,” said Brevard Public Schools officials.

“Between their grant and the Supply Zone’s partnership with the Kids in Need Foundation, thousands of children in our community are able to have their very own book for the first time. Now that is how we celebrate literacy.”
