Titusville Police Arrest 29-Year-Old Man During Search Warrant, Seize Over 160 Grams of Fentanyl

The Titusville Police have arrested 29-year-old Titusville man after they executed a search warrant at a residence on the 3800 block of Valley Lane, which resulted in a large seizure of the deadly drug Fentanyl.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville Police have arrested 29-year-old Titusville man after they executed a search warrant at a residence on the 3800 block of Valley Lane, which resulted in a large seizure of the deadly drug Fentanyl.

The man arrested has been identified as Virgil Gibson Jr.

Police say a handgun and cocaine were also seized during the search.

Detectives began their investigation after numerous tips about drug activity at the residence.

When police were granted a search warrant, the home was cleared by the SWAT team during the warrant, detectives and crime scene personnel seized over 160 grams of Fentanyl, a highly potent and lethal opioid that is often the main contributor to overdose deaths.

Detectives estimate the street value of the seizure to be approximately $18,000.

Gibson has been charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Possession of Cocaine.

Gibson was taken into custody without incident at the residence and booked into the Brevard County Jail.

If convicted of these charges Gibson will face a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years in prison.

“We remain committed to targeting and stopping anyone who is engaged in the selling of deadly narcotics in the City of Titusville”, said Special Investigations Sgt. Troy Barbour.

“This amount of Fentanyl off the street almost certainly saved a life.”
