12th Annual 5K Race/Walk for Autism Awareness Set February 20 at Gleason Park in Indian Harbour Beach

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard Autism Coalition’s 12th Annual Race/Walk 5K will be held Saturday, February 20, at Gleason Park in Indian Harbour Beach, and will get underway at 8 a.m.

Pre-race registration can be done through the Running Zone in Melbourne.

For those wishing to participate virtually, you may also register with the Running Zone. All participants, live and virtual, will receive a t-shirt and finishing medal.

The Brevard Autism Coalition 5K is part of a four-race series, “Run for the Kids Challenge 2021,” with the Tooth Trot 5K completed on January 23.

The other two races are the Brianna Marie Foundation 5K which will be held on March 6, and the Downtown Melbourne 5K: Wizards Muggles and more, which will be held on March 20.

Proceeds for the Brevard Autism Coalition 5K will go to Camp 2 Can, which offers a camp experience to those with autism.

According to Dr. Joseph Werner, Director of the Brevard Autism Coalition, the idea of the Coalition was to bring together medical practitioners, educators, support services and families of children and individuals dealing with autism.
