FATAL CRASH: 32-Year-Old Melbourne Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on US-1

A 32-year-old man from Melbourne died Tuesday morning after a motorcycle crash on US-1 near 1st Street, south of Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 32-year-old man from Melbourne died Tuesday morning after a motorcycle crash on US-1 near 1st Street, south of Cocoa. 

According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. when a motorcyclist lost control of the bike while traveling northbound on US-1, crossed into the median and into the southbound lanes on US-1.

After losing control of the bike, the motorcyclist was struck by an oncoming pickup truck in the southbound lanes and died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck is identified as a 51-year-old man from Vero Beach. He was not injured in the crash, according to FHP.

The names of the individuals involved in the crash will not be released by FHP due to a recent state order that is meant to protect victims’ identities and their families.
