Eastern Florida State Defeats South Florida State in Straight Sets, Host Unbeaten Miami-Dade on Tuesday

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s volleyball team won its third straight match Friday, defeating South Florida State College in three sets.

The Titans, who improved to 4-2 on the season, defeated South Florida State College 25-20, 25-13, 25-22 on the road.

A five-point lead early in the first set was cut to 16-15 before the Titans took command and the early advantage. The second set was all Eastern Florida State College as they jumped out to a 14-3 lead and never looked back.

South Florida State College battled throughout the third set as the teams traded points throughout. Up 23-22, the Titans would score the final two points as Janleen De Jesus served for the win.

Sophomore Maredis Colon and freshman Giselle Giraud once again led the way as Colon finished with 15 kills and 14 digs while Giraud had 15 kills and 12 digs.

The Titans will host the top-ranked and unbeaten Miami Dade on Tuesday at Titan Field House. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
