BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team lost to Hillsborough Community College 7-2 Friday afternoon at Titan Tennis Center.

The No. 1 doubles team of Tsveti Trifonova and Carlota Gascon Martinez trailed for much of the match but came storming back and Trifonova served out the 9-7 win.

Trifonova carried that momentum into her No. 1 singles match against Mbali Langa, winning the first set. But Langa came back to take the second set to force a third-set tiebreaker.

The two were tied 3-3 before Trifonova once again grabbed hold of the match, scoring seven of the final eight points to win the tiebreaker 10-4.

Eastern Florida State College will host St. Petersburg Tuesday afternoon in a Region VIII match at 2 p.m. at Titan Tennis Center.
